Riverside acupuncture is expanding to Palm Beach. As of this week 13th of August I will be working two half days a week at Sacred Ground Health Centre in Palm Beach. Thank you Craig for giving me the opportunity to work out of your beautiful space. I will be starting up on Tuesday from 9am – 1pm and Thursday from 1 – 5 pm. It has been a dream for me to find a place to work from where I live and it finally came true.

Acupuncture is great to help detoxing. If you feel tired, have sluggish elimination, irritated skin, foggy head or you just don’t feel well, it might be time to go on a detox program. Detox Acupuncture treatments help your body gain balance.
There are a lot of different ways to detox: From taking a pill, to adding homeopathic remedies into your daily water intake bottle, or to the extreme like eating only one food type per day.

One detox plan that I followed at the beginning of this year was the “26 day green smoothie girl detox” program.

I followed this program and not only did I loose eight kg, I also felt fantastic. During that time I also had one acupuncture treatment every week to balance my body and enhance the detoxing process. Acupuncture while detoxing also helps minimise food cravings, especially in the first week. The first few days of detoxing can be challenging. You might feel a bit hungry or just feel the urge to eat more. Thats when your own will power comes in. Just chill! Or come see me for an acupuncture treatment or a massage, it will make you feel better. After the first week of detoxing you will begin to notice the changes in your body. You might not feel as tired and bloated or have increased bowel movement and experience less pain.
I know now you will say ” I haven’t got the time. I don’t have the stamina, or will to do a detox, or even I haven’t got the money to do a detox”. Don’t listen to those voices inside yourself.
If you know you have to do something about your health then you must do it now. Your body is your temple. You have to keep it as clean as possible. It has a daily to-do-list.
Certain things need to be done, like maintaining your heartbeat, keeping your lungs breathing, digesting all the food you eat. You might smoke, drink alcohol or take medication. Detox Acupuncture helps eliminate toxins, fight inflammation, repair tissue, the digestive systems needs a holiday.But how can it if you constantly feed it the wrong or not so nutritional food.

Eat more fruits. Purchase a blender if you do not have one and make green or berry smoothies for breakfast. Eat less meat… There are plenty of options.

We live in a time where we are surrounded by more and more chemicals, wether it being in the food we eat, the air we breathe, the water we drink and wash ourselves, pharmaceuticals etc.The list goes on and on. Detoxing your body is an age old practice in almost every culture. It is still a part of life and practiced in India, eg: Ayurvedic medicine and in Traditional Chinese Medicine. In our western culture we used to detox every year in the 40 days leading up to Easter,otherwise known as lent. It was never called detoxing days but that was exactly what it was. Fasting or eating less to give your body a chance to recover, detox and heal.
Detoxification is about resting,cleansing and nourishing the body from the inside out by removing and eliminating toxins from your body.Then feeding your body with healthy nutrients and easy to digest foods.
HOW DOES DETOXIFICATION WORK
By eating only clean food like an unprocessed, fresh vegan diet for a few days we give our digestive organs and our whole body a break. Basically, detoxing means cleansing the blood. The body eliminates toxins through the kidneys, intestines, lungs, lymphatic system, liver and skin. When these Systems are compromised toxins are not properly eliminated and get stored mainly in fat cells and over time our body starts to work sluggishly, we feel tired, we experience brain fog etc.
